Honors College Profile: Computer Science Student Myles Alexander

Body

Myles Javon Alexander said that George Mason University's location, close to DC and a lot of professional opportunities, was a big draw for him. In addition, "The game design opportunities at the school were also a driving factor. I had always been pretty good with computers, and I had some experience with programming, so computer science felt like the right fit for me.”

He notes that being an undergraduate teaching assistant was a great experience. “I learned that being a teacher of some sort was something I might consider down the road eventually, though not immediately after graduating.”

The Honors College had an impact, diversifying his collegiate experience and rounding out his education. “The honors classes ended up being much more fun than my regular electives. The priority registration also really helped me to get classes at good times.”

After graduation, he’ll be working for Leidos as a software engineer.
