A contingent of faculty from the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) was in Montreal in July 2025 for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference. The conference provides an opportunity to connect and network with colleagues old and new, present papers, lead sessions, share best practices, and more.
The college had a presence in the exhibit hall, with a large booth that attracted numerous attendees who stopped to learn more about George Mason.
Among the notable George Mason activities at the conference:

CEC co-sponsored the Awards Lunch, where faculty member Janis Terpenny, professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Operations Research (SEOR), was inducted as an ASEE Fellow.
-
Rochelle Jones, associate chair in SEOR, served as program chair for the systems engineering division and organized two technical sessions. She also hosted a joint social event with the engineering economy, engineering management, and industrial engineering divisions.
-
Chris Carr, associate dean for outreach, student success, and engagement and deputy Title IX Coordinator, was elected to the ASEE Board as a Professional Interest Council chair.
-
Jill Nelson, associate dean of undergraduate programs, presented two papers and moderated a panel about serving as an NSF program director.
