Sustainable systems engineering is a technical, transdisciplinary field focusing on how to design, integrate, and manage complex systems over their life cycles, with the goal of addressing climate change, energy, environmental, and economic sustainability.
This minor gives students the fundamentals of systems engineering. Participants learn how to deal with the system life cycle and use scientific methods for analyzing the operations of a system or organization. The courses help students in technical fields prepare for the information technology work now common in public and private industry.
This minor provides students with a unique opportunity to earn a pilot’s license and gain expertise in various aspects of aviation management.
